Mount Dhampus was first ascended in 1955 by a German expedition via the northeast ridge. This peak is also called as Thapa Peak. In terms of the climbing techniques, it is an easy mountain to ascend. The overwhelming altitude differences between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges make Dhampus Peak a very vantage spot to observe the mountain with Tukuche Peak (6920m) and Dhaulagiri (8167m) close to you and enjoy the feeling of being part of the extreme altitudes of the Himalayas.

 

Dhampus Peak is famous trekking peak in Annapurna range. Dhampus peak is known as Thapa peak located north east of big Dhaulagiri Massif. Dhampus peak climbing offers stunning Himalayan views of Annapurna region including Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m, Mt. Annapurna I 8091m, Annpurna II 7739m, Mt. Annapurna III 7555m, Mt. Annapurna IV 7525m, Mt. Annapurna south 7219m, Mt. Hiunchuli 6441m, Mt. Fishtail/ Machhapuchhare 6998m, Mt. Nilgiri 7040m, Mt. Lamjung Himal 6988m, Mt. Tukuche peak 6920m etc and mixed thakali, tibetan culture with beautiful landscape.

 

Dhampus peak is easier Nepal trekking peak but physical fitness and climbing experience required for summit this peak.
