Tsum Valley only opened to foreign trekkers in 2008. Due to this, along with its remoteness and inaccessibility, Tsum Valley and its people have avoided commercial impacts and changes for centuries. As a result, its unique culture has remained largely intact. Since it has not been visited by many travelers, there are very few established amenities such as teahouses, hotels, stores or restaurants along the trail.

Tsum valley trekking is a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage valley in the Gorkha region of Nepal. The Tsum Valley was only opened to trekkers late in 2007 and very few foreigners have set foot in this truly magical place, close to the Tibetan border. The altitude of our Tsum Valley trek ranges from (1905m / 6290ft) in Lhokpa, to our highest camp at Mu Gompa at around (3700m / 12200ft). Tsum comes from the Tibetan, meaning vivd, the entire valley is a ‘beyul’ or secret land. Beyuls are believed to be very powerful places, assisting the worthy on their road to enlightenment. The unique culture of the Tsum Valley has remained largely unchanged for centuries. At the moment, the Tsum Valley Trek remains a bit of a hidden gem - far off the radar for all but a few adventurous travelers. But those hoping to make the journey for themselves are in luck, as Adventure Connexion, one of the top adventure travel company in Nepal. The 20 days trip includes 15 days of trekking, cultural and historical tours of Kathmandu, and some of the most breathtaking scenery on the planet.
