Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu (1310m). Transfer to Hotel.

  • Day 02 Fly to Lukla (2800m). Trek to Phakding (2600m)

We fly from Kathmandu (1350m) to Lukla (2886m) in a small airplane and we will see an amazing aerial view of Mount Everest. The flight lasts about 40 minutes, and from Lukla we will trek for 3 hours to Phakding (2640m). Depending on the time of our morning flight, we may have breakfast in Kathmandu or Lukla. From Lukla, we will have great views of Kusum Kangru (6369m). The trail to Phaking has numerous ascents and descents through forests and rocky cliffs. Overnight at Phakding (2600m)

    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included

  • Day 03 Trek Phakding (2600m) to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

The distance between Phakding and Namche Bazaar is not that far, however, the high altitude can make this trek difficult. The best strategy is to trek at a slow and gentle pace. Namche Bazzaar is a large town surrounded by two great valleys, Dudh Kosi and Bhote Kosi. It is also the gateway to Mount Everest.  There are well-stocked markets and shops giving you one last chance to buy anything that you may have forgotten. Overnight at Namche Bazaar (3440m).

    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included

  • Day 04 Excursion around Khunde (3840m) and Syangboche for Everest View.

We will spend a second night at Namche Bazaar, which is a great place to spend an extra when acclimatising. Even if you feel fantastic, it is important to sleep at this altitude as it will help in your ascent to Tengboche Monastery Trek. During the day, you can hike to the Sherpa village of Khunde and Syanboche , or you can choose to relax and explore the mountain village of Namche. Overnight at Namche Bazaar (3440m).

    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included

  • Day 05 Trek Namche Bazaar (3440m) to Tengboche (3860m)

On the trek to Tengboche, we will experience our first great views of the Everest, Lhoste, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam peaks. The trail has a steep descent towards a bridge over the Dudh Kosi. Then we climb up a zigzagging path through rhododendron bushes. There are some superb mountain sceneries towards Tengpoche, which is famous for its legendary monastery - the largest in the Everest Region. Overnight at Tengboche (3860m)

    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included

  • Day 06 Excursion around Tengboche (3860m)

The Tengboche Monastery is situated on a ridge and is surrounded by mountains including Thamserku, Kangtenga and Ama Dablam. The Lama Sange Dorjee (Monk) from Tibet’s Rongphu Monastery founded Thyangboche Monastery in the 17th century. It was destroyed by an earthquake in 1933, rebuilt and again badly damaged by fire in 1989. Construction of the present monastery was completed in 1992. We visit the monastery and the nearby museum. There you can give small donation to the monastery is also appreciated. Overnight at Tengboche (12,900 ft.)

    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included

  • Day 07 Trek Tengboche (3860m) to Khumjung (3780m)

We retrace our steps and descend steeply through a beautiful forest of juniper, rhododendron and fir to Phunkitenga. After a welcome break and perhaps a cup of tea, we cross the Dudh Kosi River and ascend to Trashinga. From here the trail contours high above the valley through Shanasa and on to the village of Khumjung. Divert to Khumjung and spend the afternoon visiting the famous Hillary School and having a snack at the world's highest bakery. Overnight at Khumjung (3780m).

    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included

  • Day 08 Trek Khumjung (3780m) to Monjo (2835m)

You descend into Namche and have time to enjoy a bit of souvenir shopping at the market, before making the knee crunching descent back down to the valley. Market day in Namche is a very important event for the people of the Khumbu. In the days before the market the trail up from the lowlands is busy with porters carrying supplies - everything from rice, eggs and beer to trainers, saucepans and CDs. The warmer climate should offer a good opportunity to finally shed a layer or two. You will still have wonderful views, and the chance to relax in slightly warmer valley surroundings. Trek back down the Dudh Kosi valley for a short way past the checkpoint at Jorsale to Monjo. Overnight at Monjo (2835m).

    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included

  • Day 09 Trek Monjo (2835m) to Lukla (2800m)

Most people head towards Lukla with a heavy heart. There is something very special about the setting, the villages and the people of the high Khumbu hills and valleys and these memories will help you up the deceptively long, final climb into Lukla. The trail to Lukla follows the main trail as far as Chablung, and then turns off above the village of Chaunrikharka towards Lukla. There are signs beyond the stream at Chablung pointing you in the direction of Lukla. The broad trail, leading uphill to the left, climbs steadily past a few bhattis and the school, then through scrub forests above the school and houses of Chaunrikharka. After a steep final climb there is a collection of houses and bhattis in Tamang Tole, a new settlement a short distance from the airport. As you approach the airstrip the houses and hotels rapidly proliferate. On arrival you can finally relax and perhaps enjoy a celebratory beer. Overnight at Lukla (2800m)

    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included

  • Day 10 Fly back to Kathmandu (1310m). Transfer to Hotel

Today we leave the mountains behind and fly back to Kathmandu. Please note that flights into Lukla are sometimes delayed due to weather conditions either in fog-bound Kathmandu or windy Lukla; be reassured that our staff in Lukla and in Kathmandu will be doing everything possible to minimise the inconvenience caused if this happens. Your patience in the trying circumstances, which can occur, will be greatly appreciated. Your final day of leisure in Kathmandu does of course provide a valuable ‘cushion’ against missing your flight home, should the Lukla flight be delayed. On arrival in Kathmandu you will be met and transferred to the Hotel of your choice. Overnight at Kathmandu (1350m).

    Breakfast Included
