The long trek and unspoiled terrain makes this trek a classic in its own. This trek goes high up to 5100m. This is a region where you hardly find any modern facilities and amenities. Adventure Connexion organizes, coordinates and facilitates Makalu Base Camp (MBC) social trek  from Khadnbari  with the help of local experienced guide porters. The local people welcome the guests and provide food and accommodations services to the trekkers. In return the guests pay for food and accommodation directly them.

The Makalu Barun National Park offers some of the most spectacular scenery in the Himalayas. The rewards of trekking here are great, but hard won – it’s remote, wilderness country and for the experienced trekker.  The trail to Makalu base camp takes you deep into the high Himalaya and while the giant of Makalu, The Great Black, looms above you, Everest, Lhotse and Baruntse are all in view.  The verdant Arun and Barun river valleys lead to the Makalu Base camp.

The Makalu Base Camp trekking starts from Khandbari and runs through the Makalu Barun National (MBC) Park and Buffer Zone area. Mt. Makalu (8,463 m), the world’s fifth highest mountain, (MBC) Park and its rich variety of flora and fauna, the culture of  local ethnic groups like Sherpa, Tamang, Gurung,  the green fields , the rural life, the local  people’s hospitality, tea house/home stay accommodation, volunteering opportunity, local food and drinks, local guides and porters   are  the  trek’s main attractions.
